hi
Time and again it is proved that, Moon at perigee, fastest and with any other combination may induce major quake. This time Mars is also fastest.
Though,in fact, I did not expect this nuch quake. Actaly my preidction next was between 27th and 28 th Dcember 2010 (around 6.3 to 6.6)
I failed to understand ,why and how ,plate tectonic theory says , major earthquakes are not due to tidal pull.
In fact, the Moon quakes are believed to be induced by Earths tidal pull, but not vice versa.
More interesting thing is Moons tidal pull on Earth is far more than Earths tidal pull on Moon.

The earth is spinning on its axis and has spin angular momentum. The earth rotates the sun and has rotational momentum on the sun axis.
The moon spin is very slow 27 days compared to 24 hrs of the earth.
We have two flywheels rotating at different rate one 10 times the other also coupled by gravitational forces. The moon comes close perigee and far apogee from the earth. Does this change of distance transfer angular momentum change on earth? The force of gravitational attraction is perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
Venus perihelion on 27th... Maybe the sun is the key and not the Earth..
earth has plenty of fluid which may float and move with differential pull....moon does not have this.

hi
please note todays (28th December 2010) quake of 6.3 at south of Fiji Island as predicetd.
A 6+ quake date hit agaian

When you do a search in USGS for earthquakes >6R for 2010 you get more than 150. This is typical in a year. With ONLY 2 day slot you can cover ALL the days in a year and BE CERTAIN of a prediction. So people must realise that when a so called prediction is given, the value may be ZERO!!!!

You have not given some random dates,to prove what you say ,is random ,and any body can do it.
I have, one more point to say
If both of us give probable dates ,say 20 odd ,in the year 2011, for earthquakes ,greater than 7,what are the odds?
Are you ready to take up this task, and give 20 odd dates ,for quakes 7+( for 2011),for comparison
I think , the issue of certainty ,will not arise then.

hi
Now you can view my monthly earthquake predictions for 7+ quakes ,dirctly from the link mentioned at the righside of this blog. There are three dates mentioned in the calender. The middle one is the predicted date and + or - one day staes the window period of quake
