earthquake prediction-which one do we call a hit?

Hi
pl note Andoman quake of 6.4 on 30th March 2010 (16.54 GMT) as predicted earlier Time and again the dates predicted have come true.Predted time is up to 12.00 Noon 30th March 2010( IST) and magnitude 7.0.where as actual quake is 10.30 Hrs late and of lesser magnitude (0.6) Where it is stated that,prediction of quake(major 6.0+) is not possible,I do not know whether this can be treated as a hit . I thing Roger would be able to comment

Amit;

No it's not a hit.

I judge by what you predict.

Wrong day, wrong size, no hit.

And of course, worthless without a location.

Amit;

I wanted to show what the planetary positions looked like so I updated an old program of mine which plots them as a series of colored lines on the screen. It's a nice way to visualize what's happening.

On a 360 degree plot, lines which cross are planets in conjunction. If the plot is 180 degrees tall, lines which cross are either conjunct or opposed and a 90 degree plot shows squares as well.

Then I added quakes as vertical lines so you can see at a glance what's going on at quake times.

Beats looking at a page full of numbers by a wide margin.

Thanks Roger.Right now I am not able to give so much time and efforts as you do. Thank you very much.
one thing to add. Please mark Moon and Sun positions also,because they induce quakes as a second cycle,in terms of full Moon ,new Moon,first and last Moon positions

Already did that.

Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn.

I can't show the plots as I have no place linkable to put them.

I have seen this chart earlier. In Indian annual ephemeris this chart is available.it is a good tool for overall view . It gives good idea of direct and retro gate motions as well as conjunction. however I found some difficulty like
1) Pin pointing exact date for change in motion for slow moving planets like Jupiter and Saturn
2) pinpointing square and opposition position at a glance
3) Finding speed and acceleration of planet changing direction
4) Extreme declinations
5) Distances of planets from earth
6) Moon at apogee ,perigee and moon at equator
Hence I use detailed ephemeris which gives all such details and even more

I have seen this coming, the Pasific rim is gonna get hit with at least 9 more 7.0 or higher this year. The bigest one will happen between LA and Vancover, that one turning out to be a 9.8. As to when the 9.8 will happen I fore see the latter half of 2010.

yes. August and September 2010 will witness some of the worst quakes.for detailed dates pl see my blog. I doubt whether it can go up to 9.8.Nevertheless it will be more than 7.5 for sure.place not known yet.
