Why plate tectonics can not explain deeper quakes?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep-focus_earthquake

We do not know how deep quakes occur at a depth greater than 300 kms.
Subduction plate reaching right up to 800 km depth without melting is not possible.
How and why are we still holding the plate tectonics theory.
  What I believe is the tidal  pull is applicable at all levels.  At the depth below  Earth crust (>200 kms) the quakes can be explained by tidal pull theory.
There is yet another solid mentle layer below the crust beyond 600 kms to 2200 kms. The liquid, molten menle below that sold layer also produces tidal pull. When the solid menle at depth 600 to 2200 breaks /partially deep quake occurs.

In order to combat my creeping senility I've decided to relearn my programming ability.

Suppose I write a program which would search the ephemerides of the sun, the moon and Jupiter
looking for dates where they all are properly situated for a quake and printing those dates to be compared to the NEIC quake lists.

Wouldn't this be a fair test of the theory?

Yes , this counts for more than 50% quakes.

Very good (but don't hold your breath).

The first step is to get suitable ephemerides. I have sun, moon and Jupiter which should be a good first start.

Creating a program to read them is the next stop.

Once it can read them I'll have it look for significant events.

Then compare those to the quakes.

Finally, determine if the hit rate is significant or not.

Any bets on the results?

Amit;

Now have ephemerides for all 6 objects of interest.

Truebasic ordered, be here couple of days. $99 well spent, was using a gifted one but it was destroyed in recent PC failure.

Very good.

Amit;

TB arrived by downloading it. Getting the cd was $10 extra. Total $120. Now the relearning starts and it looks like a slow process.

Things I used to do without thought are now mysterious. My aging brain just doesn't respond like it used to do.

I hate getting old! But it's better than the alternative.
